Entry limits: Studios may submit unlimited entries. Max 2 solos per dancer. All entries are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until event capacity is reached.
Props: Must be listed per routine with a description and accurate setup/teardown time. Contact REVEL in advance if you're unsure whether a prop qualifies.
Stage: 40 x 32 feet plus wing space. Stage sizes may vary pending venue constraints.

Performance Divisions

Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Lyrical, Broadway, Hip Hop, Acro, Specialty (ballroom/clogging/ethnic/song & dance), and Open.

Judging

Routines are scored on Technique (50 pts), Dynamics (20), Musicality (10), Performance (10), and Overall Impression (10): 100 points per judge.

Sample Schedule

Friday: Registration/check-in, competition (can start as early as 7 am), awards, then Friday Night Bonus Classes taught largely by Pro Reveler of the Year title winners and Professional Assistants (typically starting around 5 pm).
Saturday: Registration/check-in, REVEL UP! Welcome Show & warm-up, rotating convention classes by level (Senior/Teen/Junior/Mini/RevKids), competition, awards.
Sunday: Pro Reveler Audition Class, Elite Reveler Rehearsals, more convention classes, RevKids Showcase & Awards, Studio Owner/Teacher Roundtable Luncheon, and the Remix Closing Show with scholarship and award announcements.

Convention Classes take place on Saturday and Sunday and are separated by age. The rooms are the following: Senior (16+) Teen (13-15) Junior (10-12) Mini (7-9) RevKids (4-6).
Friday Bonus Classes happen concurrently with Friday Competition and are optional for all attending dancers.
The Elite Reveler Audition Class takes place in each age room on Saturday to audition dancers for the Elite Reveler Runners-Up and Winners. Runner-Up recipients will receive their award after the Audition Class and perform in the Closing Show on Sunday, where the Elite Reveler Winners will be announced. Both Runners-Up and Winners receive scholarships to our Elite Reveler of the Year Experience at our National Finals.
The Pro Reveler Audition Class on Sunday requires a separate fee and dancers must sign up via online. This audition is for the Pro Reveler Company, an elite group of dancers who tour with Revel the following season as Faculty Assistants.
Revel will host a Studio Owner and Teacher Luncheon on Sunday at most events.
The Remix Closing Showcase concludes each convention weekend with performances by the Top Revelation Winners and Ultimate Revelation Winners from the weekend’s competition, Pro Reveler Performances, Faculty Performances and Elite Reveler Performances. A brief scholarship presentation follows the showcase.

Revel Competition will take place on Friday and Saturday in most cities on the Regional Tour.
Friday Competition can start as early as 7am and will ususally start with solos and/or duo and trios. Small Groups might be scheduled in the afternoon or evening on Friday to alleviate scheduling conflicts and a crammed Saturday session.
Competition Age Divisions are the following: Senior (16+) Teen (13-15) Junior (10-12) Mini (7-9) RevKids (4-6).
Competition Styles are the following: Acro, Ballet, Broadway, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Jazz, Lyrical, Open, Specialty, and Tap.

Revel will award all registered entries with adjudication medals: Ultimate Revel Medal, Hi Platinum, Platinum, Hi Gold, Gold.
Revel will also award 1st in Category and Top Overall in each style/age division. In most cities, Top 20 Solos, Top 10 Duo/Trios/Small Groups/Large Groups, Top 3 Lines/Productions pending entry variety in that particular city.
Revel awards choreography and special awards within each session of competition throughout the weekend.
RevCash Awards include Top Revelation, Ultimate Revelation, Spirit Revelation, Studio Revelation, and the Revelry Award. These awards are geared toward entry fees and/or tuition to Nationals.
Elite Reveler Scholarship is geared toward Revel’s National FInals Title Elite Reveler of the Year Experience, wherein dancers chosen from the Regional Tour are invited to attend Nationals and enter in a Title Audition/Competition for Mini, Junior, Teen or Senior Elite Reveler of the Year.
Pro Reveler Scholarship is geared toward the following Season, wherein dancers chosen from the Regional Pro Audition Class will become part of the Pro Reveler Company for one season wherein they assist faculty on tour and receive unlimited scholarship to all 40+ events throughout the year.

HOW DO I REGISTER FOR REVEL?
- Click Register on the Main Menu of the website. Solo competitors must register through a studio account; independents cannot compete solos, but may take convention classes.
DO I HAVE TO REGISTER IN THE CONVENTION IN ORDER TO COMPETE?
- Yes, in order to participate in the competition at Revel, dancers must register and pay for the convention.

OTHER THAN TUITION BASED SCHOLARSHIPS, WHAT OFFERINGS AND OPPORTUNITIES DOES REVEL AWARD VIA THE CONVENTION?
- REVEL offers several scholarship tracks, including Tuition-based Scholarships, Summer Dance Fest Scholarships, and Industry-Sponsored Scholarships from partners like CLI Conservatory, LA Establishment, Prodigy Dance Convention, Duncan Cooper Workshop and AMDA.
WHERE CAN I FIND INFORMATION REGARDING THE EVENT DETAILS ABOUT A SPECIFIC CITY OR EVENT?
- Approximately two weeks prior to an event, a Welcome Packet button appears on the city page. This packet provides all event information. It’s available to studio owners, teachers, dancers and dance families. Information may include - faculty lineup, venue details, parking, meals, class room assignments, competition times, event schedule, class descriptions, award descriptions, etc.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN AN ELITE REVELER AND A PRO REVELER WINNER?
- An Elite Reveler is a scholarship recieved at Regionals that is a tuition based opportunity for Nationals within the same season, and isn’t tied to the Pro Reveler Company unless Regional Winners attend Nationals and participate in the Elite ROTY Experience and win the Nationals Elite Reveler of the Year. If dancers goes through those step, he/she/they can ultimately become a Pro Reveler. However, fast track into the Pro Reveler Company is to audition for it at Regionals on Sundays at an additional fee and registration. If a dancer receives Pro Reveler Award at Regionals, the opportunity is for the following season and dancers must attend a Mandatory Pro Reveler Orientation in the Summer prior to the season starting.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE OPEN CATEGORY AND THE SPECIALTY CATEGORY IN REVEL’S COMPETITION?
- The Open Category is a fusion style category, wherein the routine doesn’t fit the mold of the other styles available at competition. The Specialty category includes unique styles not otherwise listed in Revel programming, such as Song and Dance, Ballroom, Clogging, Stepping, Cheer Dance.
WHAT DO I DO IF I GO TO REGISTER FOR AN EVENT, AND IT IS SOLD OUT?
- Contact the REVEL office and you’ll be added to a waitlist. In some markets, REVEL may open a second event on the same weekend at an 2nd location within the same general area to accommodate demand. Reservations and registrations are processed in the order they are received, and attendees may be assigned to the second location (if applicable) based on initial capacity limits being reached. Notice will be given in a reasonable timeframe should this occur.
