
Mark Orsborn is a tap dancer, teacher, and choreographer with 30 years of experience. A Washington, D.C. native, he started tap dancing as a member of the tap company “Tappers With Attitude” (TWA) and was later cast in the Debbie Allen production of “Brothers of the Knight”. He is a former soloist with the Tap America Project and was featured in both the Kennedy Center 25th and Smithsonian 150th Anniversary celebrations. He co-founded his professional company, The JaM Project, in 2007 and has been recognized by The Washington Post, Dance Spirit, and several national and international film festivals for his projects. The JaM Project was also featured in Season 2 of NBC's World of Dance, produced by Jennifer Lopez. Mark was a choreographer for the YouTube Brandcast event at Radio City Music Hall and was nominated for a Helen Hayes award for his choreography contributions to the Signature Theatre production of Billy Elliott. Mark has been recognized by the Young Choreographer’s Festival, Fred & Adele Astaire Awards, and Ace Awards which recognizes the top emerging choreographers in the commercial dance industry. Mark currently co-directs The JaM Space, a training-focused drop in dance studio in the Washington, D.C. area that is also home to his pre-professional tap dance company, The JaM Youth Project. The company attracts young tap dancers from all over the country and their performances have received support from multiple news outlets and recording artist, The Doobie Brothers. Mark is also currently or previously on faculty for the DC Tap Fest, Orlando Tap Festival, Dance Masters of America, Jersey Tap Fest, Orange County Tap Fest, and RIFF: Rhythm in Fusion Festival. He is excited to bring the energy and joy of tap to Revel and the next generation of dancers.
