Duncan Cooper received most of his training at San Francisco Ballet and was the first recipient of The Lew Christensen scholarship for the most Outstanding Male Dancer. In addition, Duncan was the first student to be promoted from the school directly into the company where he spent 5 incredible years. He then joined The Dance Theatre of Harlem as a Principal dancer for 9 years where he performed leading roles like Albrecht in Giselle, Jerome Robbins Fancy Free and many more. Duncan has performed a multitude of lead roles with New York City Ballet, Washington Ballet, Royal Birmingham Ballet, among others. Duncan has also been a long-standing faculty member with Alonzo King’s Lines Ballet. Currently you can find him touring with Revel Dance Convention and as the Grand Ambassador at Universal Ballet Competition. Mr. Cooper continues to travel around the country and abroad teaching, choreographing and inspiring young dancers. In addition, he is the founder of Duncan Cooper Workshops, where he offers high level instruction, with intense energy and inspirational classes, pushing students to expand their personal boundaries.
