NATIONALS COMPETITION LEVELS & FEES
All Revelers will receive their designated Revel level wristband when checking in with our registration desk. All Revelers are required to wear their wristband in order to gain access to their designated room. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE. In the event you lose your wristband, please check back in with our registration desk for a replacement.
Registration and payment must be received before event's early bird deadline to avoid late fee. All deadline dates are available on the individual event pages. For all cities, early bird deadline is 30 days before event date.
Although every effort is made to avoid scheduling conflicts, faculty confirmed per event is subject to change without notice.
All REVEL Dance Convention ages are calculated as of the 1st of the current calendar year.
Studio owners/directors may use their discretion to place their dancers in the appropriate level, however dancers must be in their true age level for the scholarship audition class.
REVEL Dance Convention accepts payments for fees via credit card or check.
All return checks will be subject to a fee equal to the amount Revel is accessed.
Refunds will not be given for workshop fees.
Prior to arrival, all registration fees must be paid in full. Revel does not accept personal or studio checks on site.
One day participants are not eligible for scholarships.
In some cities, Teen and Senior Rooms may be combined.

Dance studios may apply their own additional administrative fees. This is very common in the industry and is used to cover the time and expense studio owners incur while organizing, registering and attending these events.
Bank money orders and bank wires must be payable in US Funds only.
All returned checks will be subject to a fee equal to the amount Revel is accessed.
No refunds on competition fees.
All Revel Dance Convention ages are calculated as of the 1st of the current calendar year.
NEED ADDITIONAL TIME - You may purchase up to 3 additional minutes of time for any registered groups through your registration. The fee is $10 per dancer per minute.
For duets/trios, groups, lines and production, the judging software will add all the ages together and divide by the number of dancers in the entry to determine the average.
The average age of each entry must not drop more than one age division below the age of the oldest dancer in the entry, regardless of the actual average age. Example: an entry contains dancers ranging in age from 9-17, the entry may not compete younger than the 13-15 age category (one division younger than the oldest dancer - 17).
ALL DANCERS WHO ENTER THE COMPETITION MUST PARTICIPATE IN THE CONVENTION.

ADJUDICATION SCORING & MEDALS
Judges can determine that a routine may have been entered incorrectly, and can move it to an appropriate category. All Judges decisions are final.
Revel Tabulators do not round down or up. Decimal places are used to ensure wide range and to avoid an abundance of ties.
TOP OVERALL: Judges will reward overall high score placements in each age division in solo, duet/trio, small group, large group, line and production pending number of entry variety.
TOP REVELATION: Judges fan favorite pick in each age division, where the highest scored routine in each age division will be perform again in the Revel Remix on Sunday. All Top Revelation routines will receive free entry to Revel's National Finals.
TOP STYLE: Highest scoring routine from each genre will receive a Top Style Award.
REVELRY: Judges Special Award that prizes excellence in entertainment.
CHOREOGRAPHY: Judges Special Award that prizes excellence in choreography.
The REVELATION ICON AWARD: This award will be given to an industry leader who has made exemplary accomplishments in making dance and the arts more accessible in communities.
CASH PRIZES: Nationals Top Revelation winners will receive cash prizes.
Parents of registered dancers are allowed into the workshop classes if they have purchased an observer wristband. All Observers must be attending with paid students only. Observer wristband fees are listed above.
Observers, teachers and parents are NOT allowed into the audition classes.
Observer bands for purchase are available at merchandise throughout the weekend. Complimentary observer bands, available through the Revel room Block are available for pick up during registration hours at the registration desk.
Observer wristbands are not required for the Friday bonus classes, "REVEL UP" Warm Up or the REVEL REMIX Closing Show. Revel reserves the right to limit observers within each ballroom, subject to attendance and space limitations.
Observers must make sure Revel wristbands are visible for the Revel staff at all times during the classes. Observers must sit and keep all belongings against the walls to provide the maximum amount of room for the dancers. No excessive noise or talking during the classes as it can be distracting to the dancers and Revel Faculty. Revel reserves the right to ask any observer to leave the ballroom if they become a distraction.
One day observer bands are not available.
Studio owners and teachers receive complimentary VIP lanyards that get them into all ballrooms upon checking-in with the registration desk.
A REVEL REMIX Closing Show will conclude every Revel Dance Convention. All parents, studio owners and teachers are encouraged to attend. Revelers will perform a select number of combinations learned that weekend. Select Faculty and Pro Revelers will also perform. Following the Revel Remix, scholarships and awards will be announced based on the results of the audition class.
RULES & REGULATIONS
Revel permits the use of photo and video during workshop classes. However, flash may not be used. Revel does not permit the use of photo and video during competition. Anyone caught filming or taking photos may be asked to leave the ballroom and will not be permitted return entry. Revel offers a photo and video station where you can preview and purchase pictures and videos from the competition.
All music must be uploaded to Revel's registration software at least one week prior to the event date. (Please be sure to have a back-up for all of your music with you at the competition via ipod).
NO dangerous props may be used during the competition. General props are allowed, but must be taken on and off the stage quickly. It is the sole responsibility of each studio to ensure that its props are taken on and off the stage. Revel staff cannot help with props. Please do not build props backstage as this can be hazardous to the performers. For safety, props weighing over 200 lbs. and/or that stand above 8 feet may not be permitted on the Revel stage. Revel reserves the final decision as to whether or not any prop is permitted on the stage.
ALL THE EXTRAS
The REVEL UP is an explosive 15 minute warm up that will be held on the first day of classes to get all dancers ready to Revel and introduce your event Faculty & Pro Revelers.
Like all our Revel regional events, Nationals will hold a Faculty Meet and Greet for our attendees and their families.
Kim Hale, Agent with The Movement Talent Agency, will be holding an Audition Workshop for Juniors and also one for Teens and Seniors; wherein she will be scouting talent for representation consideration.
Faculty of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy, will be holding a College Acceptance and Scholarship auditions.
Complimentary Classes for Teachers, Studio Owners and attending Choreographers. (31st-4thearly AM)
Dance Brand and Social Media Strategy Workshop for teachers and studio owners will be held by Kim Hale, Founder of Your Big Beautiful Dance Brand.
Thursday night REVEL RALLY, a party hosted by our Nationals Faculty.
REVEL POOL PARTY, hosted by our Nationals Faculty will take place one day in between classes and competition out by the hotel pool.
REVEL MEET N' MINGLE, a dinner hosted by Revel directors wherein all attending studio owners and teachers will be invited out to Universal Studio's City Walk for a night of fun!
