
2022 NATIONALS EVENTS & EXTRAS
REVEL RALLY
A themed kick off Welcome Party Event for all our attendees, dance families, studio staff and Revel faculty. The 2022 Nationals Revel Rally is scheduled for Wednesday, June 29th, following the first day of competition.
PRO REVELER OF THE YEAR COMPETITION SHOWDOWN
National Title Competition where our 21-22 Pro Revelers compete their solos, scheduled on Tuesday, June 28th, the day before our Nationals Competition begins.
TEACHER MEET-N-MINGLE
An event during Nationals where attending Studio Owners and Teachers join Revel Faculty and Staff for a night on the town, including dinner and entertainment. Our 2022 Teacher Meet-n-Mingle is scheduled for Saturday, July 2nd after the last session of competition.
TEACHER CLASSES
Revel will host complimentary teacher classes and seminars for teachers and studio owners in attendance at Nationals. See schedule forthcoming.
THE PANEL
A two hour audition class for dancers ages 15 and up, where industry leaders and institutions audition dancers for college acceptances, scholarships, casting opportunities, job offers, etc. Participating parties and participation instructions will be announced soon.
YOUTH PROTECTION ADVOCATES IN DANCE SEMINAR
Attending Parents and Studio Staff are invited to participate in an industry-wide discussion with YPAD leaders helping to keep our dancers safe and healthy.
REVEL NATIONALS POOL PARTY
Pending weather, Revel will host a pool party for its' Nationals attendees on the last day of the event prior to the Rev Carpet and Gala Closing Show.
REVEL UP WARM UP
An explosive 30 minute Nationals Warm Up and Welcome Show that will be held on the first day of classes to get all dancers ready to revel and introduce our Nationals Revel Family.

Our special guest who is an icon in the entertainment industry will be in attendance to receive their 2022 Revelation Icon Award. Revelation Icon Guest will be announced soon.
THE REV CARPET
A ticketed Formal Pre-Closing Show Event with dancer interviews and professional photography.
NATIONALS GALA CLOSING SHOW
Enjoy dinner and beverages as you watch and/or perform in Revel's Gala Closing Show, which includes Faculty Performances, Pro Performances, Award Announcements and more! Tickets to this year's Gala Closing Show will go on sale soon.

Age is calculated as of the first of the current calendar year. The above age levels are guidelines to the Revel experience. Each dancer will be issued a wristband that reflects their assigned ballroom for class and gives them access to that room only. Studio directors and staff are more than welcome to move dancers to a different level for convention. This can be done in the registration portal.

Revel Faculty and Judges will award dancers with Special Awards that prize excellence in a variety of dance elements.

Revel Faculty and Judges will award excellence in choreography.

TOP OVERALL AWARDS
Revel Faculty and Judges will award overall high score placements in each age division and category. Nationals Top Overall 1st-3rd place will receive Revel Cash and a Nationals Overall Award.

REVELER OF THE YEAR (TITLE) - MINI/JUNIOR/TEEN/SENIOR
Solo Top Overall 1st-3rd place dancers will be announced during their regularly scheduled competition awards session in no particular order. They will receive Reveler of the Year Finalist Awards and will be announced at the Closing Show Gala as contenders for our National Title: Reveler of the Year - Mini, Junior, Teen and Senior. Prize is cash and a Nationals Trophy.

TOP style AWARDS
Revel Faculty and Judges will award the highest scoring routine 11 & Under and 12 & Up in each Style, regardless of category. Will receive Rev Cash and announced during the Gala Closing Show.
TOP REVELATION AWARDS
Revel's Judges Pick Award - going to a group, line, production in each age division. Top Revelation Winners at Nationals will receive Rev Cash as well as get to re-perform their winning dance in the Gala Closing Show.
TOP showmanship AWARDS
Revel Faculty and Judges will award the most entertaining routine 11 & Under and 12 & Up - eligible are groups, lines and productions. Top Showmanship will also receive Rev Cash.

The REVELRY AWARD
The Revelry Award will go to the studio who displays the most versatility at Nationals. Revelry Winner will also receive Rev Cash and will be announced during the Gala Closing Show.

STUDIO REVELATION AWARDS
Revel Faculty and Judges will award the each studio with their highest scoring group, line or production routine. Studio Revelations will also receive Rev Cash.

PRO REVELER OF THE YEAR AWARDS
Revel Faculty and Judges will award a female and male Pro National Title Winner. Dancers who have completed their Pro Reveler Faculty Assistant Season will be applicable to compete and audition for PROTY 2022. Award comes with a cash prize and Pro Program Opportunities.

TOP STUDIO AWARD
Revel Faculty and Judges will award the highest scoring Top Revelation Winner from the Nationals event with our coveted Top Studio Award 2022. Title will come with a plaque and a cash prize.

GENERAL RULES & REGULATIONS
​
-To compete at Revel a dancer must be registered for the entire convention.
-All competition entries must be registered under a studio. Independent entries are no longer permitted to compete a solo.
-Teachers and professional dancers are not permitted to compete.
-Admission to Revel competition is absolutely free. All registered attendees as well as families, teachers and studio staff are welcome to watch the competition.
-Choreographers and attendees automatically give permission to Revel to use all photo and video for advertising and publicity.
-Competition fees must be received before event's early bird deadline to avoid late fee. All deadline dates are available on the individual event pages. For most cities, early bird deadline is 30 days before event date.
-Registration is on a first come, first serve basis, and final payment in-full is the only method to guarantee your participation for an event.
-There are no refunds for competition fees.
-Dance studios may apply their own additional administrative fees. This is very common in the industry and is used to cover the time and expense Studio Owners incur while organizing, registering and attending these events.
-Bank money orders and Bank Wires must be payable in US Funds only.
-All returned checks will be subject to a fee equal to the amount Revel is accessed.
-If a routine is choreographed by a scheduled Revel Judge, that Judge will sit out during said routine and another Revel Faculty will judge that routine.
-Entry limits will vary by event. Please see corresponding city page for specific entry limits for your tour city.
-Need additional time - purchase up to 3 additional minutes of time for any registered groups through your registration. The fee is $10 per dancer per minute.

PHOTO AND VIDEO
Revel permits the use of photo and video during workshop classes. However, flash may not be used. Revel does not permit the use of photo and video during competition. Anyone caught filming or taking photos may be asked to leave the ballroom and will not be permitted return entry. Competition photos and videos are available online at dance bug.com.

MUSIC
All music must be uploaded to Revel's registration software at least one week prior to the event date. (Please be sure to have a back-up for all of your music with you at the competition via ipod).

PROPS
No dangerous props may be used during the competition. No liquids or powders are are permitted on stage. Confetti cannons or similar devices require prior approval by REVEL. General props are allowed, but must be taken on and off the stage quickly. It is the sole responsibility of each studio to ensure that its props are taken on and off the stage. Revel staff cannot help with props. Please do not build props backstage as this can be hazardous to the performers. For safety, props weighing over 200lbs and/or that stand above 8 feet may not be permitted on the Revel stage. Revel reserves the final decision as to whether or not any prop is permitted on the stage.
